2022 Brokenback Rose

The Brokenback Vineyard, Pokolbin, was planted in the 1970's by a visionary group led by the late, legendary, Len Evans, AO, OBE. Over the ensuing years the vines have produced premium wines under a variety of labels. In 2008 the vineyard then in two parts, was purchased privately and amalgamated.

Our Shiraz Rose is made from grapes grown on our Brokenback Vineyard.

With minimal skin contact the wine is a light, fresh and fruity style showing sweet cherry and strawberry characters. The vibrant alate has good length of delicate fruit flavours with a touch of spice and crisp acidity. Best served chilled.

Cellaring: Made for early consumption.

2023 Creek Bed Semillon

Our Creek Bed Semillon is an isolated parcel selected from our Brokenback Vineyard and handpicked to minimise skin contact and preserve the fresh, delicate flavours of the variety.

This 2022 Hunter Valley Semillon was harvested early to capture the crisp citrus flavours with refreshing acidity. The wine is vibrant and lively whilst young displaying a scented lemon blossom bouquet with lingering lemon and lime zest characters. The palate is intensely flavoured yet elegant in style with great line and length.

Cellaring: Excellent whilst young or will gain rewarding complexity with careful cellaring up to 10 years.

2018 Gatecrasher Cabernet Sauvignon

The Leogate estate tradition of bringing grapes into the winery from districts external to the Hunter Valley has continued in 2018 for the winemaking of "The Gatecrasher" series. This wine is made from grapes grown on our own Certified Organic Vineyard located int he Central Ranges of New South Wales.

This Cabernet Sauvignon displays delightfully rounded flavours of blackberry and blackcurrants that are well balanced by fine grained tannins. The gentle French oak maturation complements the varietal characters of the wine whilst adding structure and length of flavour. This lovely fruit rich wine can best accompany beef, game and cheese.

Cellaring: Excellent drinking now or medium term cellaring 2 - 10 years will be rewarded.
