Our Creek Bed Chardonnay is an isolated parcel selected from our Brokenback Vineyard and hand picked to minimise skin contact and preserve the fresh, delicate flavours of the variety.
The Creek Bed Chardonnay is an elegant wine style with a strong citrus core driving through the palate. With careful French oaking treatments and extended lees contact the palate is well structured and complex displaying delicate melon flavours and crisp acidity at the finish.
Cellaring: Excellent whilst young or will gain rewarding complexity with medium term cellaring of 2 - 5 years.
Palate: A very elegant wine displaying melon and grapefruit flavours balanced by fresh acidity. The subtle and well-integrated French oak barrel fermentation creates a complex and refined palate with a creamy texture and a lingering finish.
Bouquet: Subtle melon and peach fruit aromas with a hint of toasty oak.
Palate: This wine has been fermented in 100% French Oak Hogshead barrels and matured on yeast lees with occasional stirring. The resultant wine displays lovely complexity of both fruit and oak with elegant peach flavours being complimented by a soft and creamy finish.
Cellaring: Drinking well now or will develop very rewarding toasty, nutty characters with careful medium-term cellaring, 2-5 years.
